2) Question 2 – How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary tasks?
I feel that my poster and film review worked well with my
final film. My review was effective in terms of analyzing the concepts of my
film and talking about key features of the film and helped any potential views
to understand if they want to see the film by analysing the film in depth and
explaining briefly some of the plot lines and what is happening in it. My
poster was relevant and matched the house theme in which I carried out
throughout the project. These are shown through the colors I have used, for
example i have used specific colours such as pinks and yellows, red and whites.
The reason for this is because these colours symbolizes love and new beginnings
aswell as yellow for the sticky notes which again relates to the feelings that the main character
After my film was made it was important for me to create a
film poster as this would market my film to my audience
I think the one
aspect of the project I could improve is my film poster in which i think could
have been greatly improved as it didn’t quite fit in with the house style and
look of my review page and main product it think this was due to it maybe being
rushed and not enough aspects being put into it such as filters and text fonts
and me sticking to basic ideas in order to make it, this is something id
definitely like to improve if I were to do this again. However my film review
page did follow the codes and conventions of empire magazine such as the font,
layout and style of language.
As to the relevance of my film genre being a romantic comedy
I think my main product and ancillary task was relevant to my genre as for the
film the editing was paced with the soundtrack although looking back I feel a
better choice of soundtrack could have bbeen chosen in order to ake the film
more fast paced and not be boring at times. I feel the editing overall went
well and not many errors were made that would jeopardise the quality of the film
for eg there were no sudden random scenes and the soundtrack music also went in
well with the film. I think this went well with the genre of my film poster and
review page as the film poster was very bright and upbeat and this was done to
show the emotions felt by the characters in the film.
My poster was created using Photoshop and took time and some
previous Photoshop experience to make, i chose to use a picture of the main character
Talia in various points of the film and a few pictures of the love notes which
gives the audience a hint of what may happen without giving away any plot
lines.
